How to Add Custom CSS to WordPress

Nobody will get a perfect wordpress theme matching their needs. Its possible to change CSS styles to adjust theme layout according to our needs. Most people modify their theme’s stylesheet to make these customizations. If your theme gets updated, you may lose the changes you made. In this case, you may want to create a child theme so that you will not lose any changes. This post is intended for those who wants to add custom css, but do not know how to create child theme. This can also be useful for overriding plugins css styles.

Step 1: Install Simple Custom CSS

Go to Plugins –> Add New and search for Simple Custom CSS. Install the plugin and activate it.

Step 2: Add your custom CSS

You can access the plugin settings by going to Appearance –> Custom CSS. Now you can add your CSS which will override other plugin, theme css styles.

Save the changes and you are done!

Some themes and plugins may use inline CSS which cannot be overridden using Simple Custom CSS.
